I had a great opportunity to draw this overhead view of the farm my father-in-law grew up on in Iowa. The portrait was a gift for his birthday, so I wanted to be sure and capture the essence of the life on the farm as relayed to me through the family. From the water spigot, the garden, patio, and even the old tractor he rode, everything was targeted to represent that chapter of his life. It currently hangs over his bed.
