Piper

“Piper” is inspired by a moment of stillness I felt while standing on my clan’s ancestral land in Scotland—a quiet ridge overlooking the loch that once protected our castle. In that space, surrounded by wind and water, I felt an unexpected sense of presence, as if the past was leaning close enough to be heard. This piece brings that moment to life: a spirit-like piper emerging from the landscape, neither fully here nor gone, playing for the land that shaped generations before me. The portrait bridges time—inviting viewers to feel the same calm, connection, and gentle reminder that our histories often echo softly around us, waiting for us to pause long enough to listen.
